We prepare Lightning protection risk assesment and Lightning protection zone of protection calculations for extra high voltage substations and industrial installations of large industries like power plants, steel plants, refineries, material handling plants etc. Our engineers are preparing similar calculations for each of the projects we are executing and thus gained high efficiency in delivering the calculation as per best engineering practice and with optimum material involvement. the calculation is done as per IS 2309 and Dr. Razevig's method for Indian projects and IEC 62305 & NFPA for projects in Middle East and Africa.


Direct stroke lightning protection (DSLP) measures are taken to protect the very costly equipment, buildings, human lives within the protected properties against very dangerous direct lightning strikes on industrial plants, small & large substations, utility power plants etc.


The main elements of the protective system against direct lightning strike in a substation are the lightning conductors, the down comers and the underground earth electrode system. The lightning conductors are a system of conductors which projects above the objects to be protected acting as lightning receiver, the down comers which connect the receiver with the earth electrode and the underground earth electrode system which carries lightning current safely to the ground to preclude any possibility of its destructive lightning discharge to the ground through the protected object. There are two types of conductors used for such purpose - Lightning Masts, Shield Wires or a combination of both.
